“Hey, do you think dad and Mr. Zabini are doing okay?” Roxanne adjusted her bag on the way back home from shopping in Diagon Alley.
“I think they’re doing okay. Have you seen dad lately? He’s so happy.” Fred stuffed his hands in his pockets while Roxanne opened the door.
“He is. I hope that continues.” Roxanne walked in as Fred followed. She dropped her bag on the couch and toed off her shoes. “Dad, Mr. Zabini, we’re home!”
“I don’t want to do that.”
Fred froze at the sound of George’s voice, coming from the kitchen. “Did you hear that?”
“I did,” Roxanne nodded as her eyes widened. “You don’t think…”
“Ignore the most logical choice. That’s smart.”
“That was Mr. Zabini. No, it can’t be. They can’t be fighting!” Fred exclaimed.
“I’m sure they’re not fighting. It’s a misunderstanding, yeah? Yeah?” Roxanne took a breath as Fred walked over and squeezed her hand. “Yeah, just a misunderstanding,”
“I don’t have to listen to you.”
“I believe you should.”
“Well I--” George started when Fred and Roxanne ran into the kitchen screaming, “NO! DON’T!”
George and Blaise pulled away from each other quickly as they looked at Fred and Roxanne.
“Freddie, Roxie, what’s wrong?” George frowned in concern.
“We heard you two fighting. You’re not fighting right? I mean if you are, you guys can work it out, right?” Fred looked between them with a pleading look in his eyes.
“Daddy, Mr. Zabini, please don’t fight. You guys love each other and can talk, right?” Roxanne messed with her shirt as she looked between them.
“Oh honey, my little man, come here.” George opened his arms as Fred and Roxanne walked in them. George squeezed them, kissing their hair. “Everything is alright, you two. Blaise is just trying to get me to redecorate the house and take a small break from the shop. That’s all.”
“Yes, but your father has quite a hard head.” Blaise grinned.
George looked up with a smile. “Where’s the fun if I agree so easily?” He turned back to Fred and Roxanne who didn’t look very convinced. He bit his cheek as his mind returned to the time he saw that look before. “Listen, me and Blaise were only joking. It’s not a serious fight, I promise.”
Fred and Roxanne narrowed their eyes a bit, as they looked up at Blaise for confirmation.
“Yes,” Blaise nodded. “It’s not a serious fight. We’re merely joking, I give you my word.”
Fred and Roxanne relaxed and settled in George’s arms. George grinned and kissed their foreheads in turn. “See, there’s nothing to worry about. Now, didn’t you two go shopping with your friends and cousins today?”
“Yeah we did! We got so much cool stuff. Want to see?” Roxanne grinned.
“It was a fun day too. We caught Al and Lorcan snogging in the back of the bookstore.” Fred snickered as Roxanne giggled.
“Let me guess. There are pictures of this event, correct?” Blaise grinned, leaning against the counter.
“My trusty camera,” Fred took it out of his pocket with an evil chuckle. “I never leave without it.”
“That’s my boy.” George ruffled his hair. “Why don’t you go get the things you bought and show us okay?”
“I would like to see these items, as well.” Blaise said.
“Okay, we’ll be back.” Roxanne smiled at them, turning to walk into the living room.
Fred eyed them carefully before turning to go follow Roxanne.
George sighed softly as he walked over to Blaise. “They’re still shaky after, um, you know.” He leaned against him and pulled his arms around his waist.
Blaise tightened his hold and kissed his neck. “I know. It’s a perfectly understandable response. I’m quite surprised they have taken to me, like they have.”
“That’s easy. You’re brilliant that’s why.” George smiled, turning in Blaise’s arms. He wrapped his arms around his neck as Blaise pulled him close with a pleased hum. “Is that the only reason?”
“One of them,” George chuckled. Blaise grinned and leaned down to kiss him. George leaned up, meeting him half way in the kiss. He moaned, tightening his hold around Blaise’s neck when Blaise deepened the kiss.
Meanwhile, in the living room Fred and Roxanne breathed a sigh of relief.
“See told you, it was only a misunderstanding.” Fred grinned in relief as he grabbed his bag.
“I’m glad. I like Mr. Zabini I don’t want him to leave.” Roxanne grabbed her bags and organized them on their way back to the kitchen.
“Me either, though I wish we didn’t catch them snogging so much.”
“That’s a trend in our family it seems.”
Fred smiled as they walked back to the kitchen the moment George pushed Blaise against the counter, ready to slide his hands up into his hair. They stopped at the sight of George pushing Blaise against the counter, kissing him like it would be the last time. Fred snickered as Roxanne giggled. They tried to stifle their laughs when George turned to them.
“Um, dad, if you want to spend some time with Mr. Zabini we understand.” Fred smirked in a perfect imitation of Blaise.
George shook his head at the smirk as Blaise chuckled.
“Yeah dad, we can pop over to Al’s place. Lorcan makes the best muffins and Neville’s tea is so wonderful.” Roxanne said.
“No, no I want to see what you guys got today. Let me see it.” George kissed Blaise’s cheek as he slowly pulled away. He didn’t know how Blaise continued to make him feel like a teenager. It baffled his mind, but he liked it. He quickly took a seat at the table to hide any evidence of his arousal.
Blaise grinned and took a seat next to him. He felt a sense of pride at seeing Fred’s smirks. They were becoming as good as Roxanne’s brainteasers. For a Gryffindor and a Ravenclaw, they picked up Slytherin lessons easily. Blaise couldn’t be prouder.
Fred and Roxanne took a seat at the table and put their bags on the surface.
“Alright, so, we first stopped in that new clothing store that just opened next to Madam Malkin’s.” Roxanne started as she pulled items out of her bag.
Blaise nodded as he leaned over to place his hand on top of George’s under the table. George grinned, linking their fingers together. He leaned against Blaise as Roxanne continued her story.
Fred and Roxanne turned to each other and grinned. Their dad may act like a teenager, but it was good that he was happy.
They were going to make sure it stayed that way.
