Summary: Pansy wants to know why Luna follows her, Luna tells her, and she can't believe the answer.
Notes: A pinch hit for the tenth round of
daisychain_drab. This is my first femslash for Harry Potter so I hope I did a good job with it. I have to admit I did like writing this. ^^ Enjoy!
After the war, a few things surprised Pansy. Draco’s relationship with Potter, er, Harry was one and Theo’s relationship with Daphne was another. However, the one thing that surprised her the most was Luna Lovegood. She sat next to Pansy at almost every meal. She talked to her when she didn’t want any company and offered to be her partner if they had a class together.
Pansy didn’t understand why Luna decided to follow her. She was an outcast, no one wanted to talk to her after she tried to give Harry to the Dark Lord, but Luna was different. One day her curiosity peaked when Luna invited her to the Ravenclaw common room.
Pansy had to know why Luna continued to talk to her as if nothing happened.
The answer surprised her.
“You looked like a very interesting person and I wanted to talk to you. I will say that you had a terrible case of the Wrackspurts in the beginning of the year, but that’s disappearing.”
“But I almost gave your friend to--”
“Yes, but that was in the past.”
“But…”
Luna shook her head and took Pansy’s hand. “The past is something no one can change, but anyone can change the future. There are many possibilities and I can’t wait to see them.”
Pansy noticed the warmth from Luna’s hand and the way their hands easily fit. She tentatively linked their fingers together and gazed over at Luna. “Are you sure?”
Luna smiled and pressed a small kiss against the corner of her mouth. “Yes, I’m sure. Now I think we should enjoy the last day of Fall before the snow arrives, don’t you?”
Pansy touched the corner of her mouth with a small smile. “Yeah that sounds like a good idea. Do you think we’ll see those things out there?”
“Flitterbottoms? I hope so.” Luna squeezed her hand on their way outside.
Many things surprised Pansy, but she was learning to appreciate them.
