Things I love (007): Anime

I fell off the wagon with this a bit, so now I'm going to continue! Next up in my 100 things I love is Anime. I'm sure there are some people on my flist that may not know about it, but it's Japanese Animation. There are so many different categories and types and stories that I will flail about individually later on, but anime is something I have come to love for many, many years even before Harry Potter. I started watching it when I was around 7 or 8 with Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z thanks to my uncle who introduced me too it.

I was always interested in something new, still am, but this is something that stuck with me and I love it. There are so many things I love about anime. First, it led me to liking something that I could enjoy. I didn't like watching One Tree Hill or The O.C. or any of the other shows my classmates were watching at the time. Many of the story lines in anime kept my attention more than the story lines of all those others shows my classmates watched. Anime was something I could say that I like and it made me happy to find a niche and find some cool people with it.

Anime led me to some of my closest friends. We were picked on for liking it in middle school, but in high school we found our anime club and we found each other. Anime is the one thing I can get silly and fangirl over, well besides HP XD. It's something I like to watch and enjoy. There are so many amazing series and authors out there. I only wish I could draw, but writing fanfic is good. ^^

Anime is really where I first started writing. Me and my friend gave each other prompts from Naruto and Rurouni Kenshin to write about. It was the beginning of the end I suppose *giggles*

Anime is another connection I have with my uncle. We can talk about anime and different shows all day and I'm so happy because there's someone else to talk about it with me, well, when I'm not around my brothers. It's the one thing me and my brothers can watch together and we would bicker and argue, well besides our fav characters and me trying to ship every guy I can hehe!

It's the one thing the rest of my family couldn't make me give up. I gave up dolls, the Babysitter's club series, and many others things when I became older, but anime was something I refused to give up. I've been teased about it, but I don't care because there are more people in my family that loves it and that makes me happy.

Also there are so many lovely soundtracks, voice actors, characters, and other lovely things I love because of anime. Now I normally watch Shojo (girls) and Shounen (boys) BL shows (slash), slice of life, giant robot (like Gundam), a few psychological things, cutesy things, sometimes some of the silliest shows just to get a laugh, shows with cute guys as a guilty pleasure, yaoi (m/m), a little yuri (f/f), and adult things. I still watch American shows, but I am a huge anime fan! It's led me to some cute guys too (thinks about last year's youmacon ^///^)

Anyway I really wish there were more things for me to explain, but the only thing I can thing about is this. I love anime and I always will.

My icon of the pink haired girl is from an anime called Bleach. Her name is Yachiru Kusashiji and she's from the 11th squad one of my favorite squads! ^^
